Concert Photography and Experience (2/2)

Here we got for the 2nd part of the long post. This part will cover my experience doing photography in a concert, both as media and fans.

Lemme start as media since joining media is the main reason who am I now, craving for another concert photo.

How media's photographer work?
Where are they in the concert?
Are they allowed to take pictures as much as they can?

As media we're allowed to bring out professional camera to take pictures during the concert. BUT it's not for the whole concert. Some concerts sometimes did not allow us to take photos AT ALL (cough YG).

For Idols concert, usually we can only take photos on the first 3/5 songs/ until their 1st ment. What a short time right? lol yes. Only about 15 minutes and sometimes we still need to check if the photos are good enough and at the end I often ended with not really good photos.

After that 3 songs, we'll be escorted to leave the venue, leave our camera outside. We can go back again to the previous place but without camera. This is how Indonesia promoter works. But, other promoter overseas did not escorted us to leave the venue, instead, they giving us a ticket so after 3 songs, we can just go to the designated place as the ticket they gave (yes ofc our camera still with us!).

Where are we in the concert? This depends on the promoter-agency deal. This is where Indonesia promoter will put us:

  1. The place where there's not much ticket sold (a.k.a the leftover)
  2. In front of FOH
  3. The middle tribune so we can see the stage clearer (tbh this is the best view for concert photographer)
As I experienced being media with Three Angles Pro (from Singapore) they put us right in front of the stage!!  This might be good but might be not because the photo will be taken from below. But as a fangirl too, I'd love this lol.

To be exact (I circled the place of the photographer):
